Theoretical Framework Monday 16th September 2019 Lo: To apply the theoretical framework to media texts What is theoretical framework? Four major concepts, or ideas, which form the basis of the concept: Media language Media instructions Media audiences Media representations Media language This covers terms used, how texts are constructed and the messages conveyed, it includes: Camerawork (cinematography) Close up, mid shot, medium long shot, long shot, panning, camera angle, landscape, portrait. Soundtrack Diegetic sound is when the sound is heard in the film or scene, if you went there you would hear that sound. Non-diegetic sound is when the sounds have been over laid onto the film, such as music or sound effects that wouldn't be heard in the scene. Mise-en-scene Everything you can see in the frame, if you paused it what would u see. costume, props, setting, hair and makeup, lighting, actor positioning, body language and facial expression. ...
