Main purpose of media: to make money

Media influence

I think the media influences me by how i act and see the world around me. The people i follow on instagram see things differently to others, the way they overcome issues, the way they believe things, the sides they'd take in an argument. Also by the way they dress, such as Korean fashion or makeup, hair colour and style.

I think having this effect on people through media is very powerful because it can change how people are mentally. Change people to take sides or to be a specific way. Also, by having "latest trends" people spend more money to be in the "latest fashion." Not only that, but by expressing people in different ways can cause stereotypes, such as teenagers being bad news and threatening, or immigrants illegally entering countries to steal jobs or to terrorise, when that is hardly ever the case.

"Sights like Facebook, Twitter and instagram make us more antisocial"

I do partly agree with this statement as children nower days are bing influenced to be more active on them. however it is also wrong to say this as being 'social' meant to talk or acknowledge someone or a group of people, if you are being o the media and is talking to someone online, it is still being social as you are still talking to someone. Also, the fact that more people can hide their identities online means they can talk to more people without being scared of being judged for who they are. This actually improves their social skills as talking to more people can help with self confidence.
